The Highlights

The highlights of my resume. The work where I grew the most as an artist, the work most meaningful to me, and my most significant achievements

Dramaturging for Ducky

I was honored to dramaturg my first production with new work Ducky by recent U-M grad Carly Cooper, a stunning one-person show in which a young woman reconciles her mother's untimely death and her desire to not have children of her own. In my work, I aided in shaping and sharpening the script to its root tensions, created an actor pack and curated public facing materials for the show.

Zooming In On Atmospheric Theatre--
The Parking Garage

At the onset of the pandemic, my senior show as a Writing, Film, Media Arts Major at Walnut Hill School for the Arts had to be transitioned to an online format. With minimal aid and time, I had to figure out how to recreate the play, which was set in a parking garage and very atmospheric in nature, to a new medium. I transformed constraints into new artistic opportunities: adding sound effects not originally written into the script, wringing out as much symbolism as I justifiably could from a lava lamp. These miscellaneous, sometimes accidental elements layered on top of one another into something surprisingly immersive.

2020 YoungArts Merit Winner in  Writing-- Play/Script

I was thrilled to be recognized by the YoungArts Foundation for my play, The Ocean's End which follows the meeting that occurs as an Iranian-American police officer finds a young woman high and alone in her car after a 2am call about a disturbance. Although the YoungArts festival the play would have been read at was cancelled due to the pandemic, I had the privilege to see the play produced by professional actors and director through the Boston Young Playwrights Festival and put it on myself at my high schools' own original work play festival.
